- 750 grams chicken
- 4 tsp poppy seeds
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 big tomato, chopped
- 2 chopped/slit green chillies
- As needed Few curry leaves (optional)
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- as required Little turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- as required Water
- 1 potato cut into big pieces (optional)

- Salt to taste
- As needed Chopped coriander leaves
- Khada Masalas
- 1/2 tsp sabut jeera
- 3-4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 green cardomoms
- 1 black cardomom
- 2 dried red chillies
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions to make to make Chicken Posto
- First soak the poppy seeds in little water for half an hour. Then grind it into a smooth paste. Keep this mixture aside. Now heat a pan, add 4 tbsp of oil and gently fry the potato pieces. Now keep them aside too.



- Now in the same pan, add all the kada masalas mentioned above, like sabut jeera, bay leaf, dried red chillies, green cardomoms, black cardomom, cloves and cinnamon stick. Let them splutter, then add the chicken pieces into it.


- Now add sliced onion, chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies and ginger-garlic paste. Then add all the dry masalas like turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, curry leaves and garam masala powder.



- Now mix everything well and cover and cook it on a low flame for 15 mins. Then add fried potatoes to it. Mix them again and cover the pan and cook it for half an hour, if required add half cup of hot water.



- After half an hour, add the poppy seeds paste in it. Now combine everything well and cover again and cook it for 15 mins more.



- Finally sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves and give it a mix again. Your Posto Chicken is now ready to serve. You can serve it with some steamed rice, pulao or with any assorted rotis of your choice.
